About Me

I was born in 1964 in Bedfordshire, UK and I left school in 1980. At this time, I did not have any formal qualifications. Throughout my education I struggled with a variety of learning, emotional and behavioural problems. In my early 30s, I discovered that I live with a condition called dyspraxia - often described as clumsy child syndrome, or developmental coordination disorder. In my early 20s I started attending college and taught myself to learn through repetition. I went onto work in the UK public sector, working for training organisations and UK funding bodies - including the Chamber of Commerce and the Learning and Skills Council. The majority of my positions involved management and development roles which focussed on supporting internal and external staff to identify barriers to progress and the achievement of both individual and organisational goals. Other voluntary roles and positions have included: staff counsellor, literacy tutor, project manager and spiritual healer.
